The Deeper Dangers of Fake Games: Game Outcomes May Be “Manipulated in Real-time”

In our previous article, we explained that RTP tampering is one of the most common ways fake games operate. But that is only the tip of the iceberg.

This time, we want to talk about a lesser-known yet far more serious issue.

Some fake games do not simply lower the RTP from 97% to 92%. In many cases, they come from so-called unauthorized versions or cloned games, where the entire game logic is fully controlled by the platform.

What does this mean?

When a platform controls the game logic, outcomes are no longer determined purely by probability. Instead, results may be dynamically adjusted based on player behavior.

For example:

“Player-targeting mode” can be enabled

In some illegal backend systems, operators may be able to:

  • modify the code
  • alter probability settings
  • dishonestly display information to players
  • fabricate data and distort players’ perception of actual odds

Under such circumstances, when the system detects certain behaviors — for example, if a player has been winning consistently or is preparing to withdraw funds — the backend may quietly adjust the algorithm, causing a series of losses to begin.

To the player, this may simply feel like “bad luck.”

But in reality, it could be the system gradually reclaiming the money it previously allowed the player to win.

✅ Data Is Completely Unregulated

The biggest difference between genuine original games and fake games lies in transparency and regulatory oversight.

Authentic original games are usually certified by independent third-party institutions.

Their RNG (Random Number Generator) must pass independent testing, and the RTP must comply with publicly disclosed statistical standards.

In addition, the game version itself cannot be modified at will by the platform.

These safeguards exist to ensure that game outcomes are truly determined by probability rather than human intervention.

Fake games are entirely different.

Because these games do not come from officially authorized providers, they usually have:

  • no third-party certification
  • no regulatory review
  • no independent audit trail

All core data is fully controlled by the platform’s server, leaving players with no way to verify whether the game logic is genuine or whether the probabilities have been altered.

In other words, once a player enters such a platform, they are no longer engaging with a probability-based entertainment game, but rather with a completely opaque black-box system.

Why Are Fake Games Becoming More Common?

Many people assume fake games exist simply because genuine games are too expensive. This explanation is only partially correct — it is not the core reason. The real reason is that fake games give platforms full control over game outcomes. When a platform uses unauthorized versions or cloned games, the entire game logic is controlled in the backend.

In other words, the platform can not only modify RTP, but may also directly control wins and losses. At this point, it is no longer truly a game of probability, but rather a mechanism to manually extract players’ funds. This is precisely why some unethical platforms deliberately choose fake games — where they can fully control outcomes and implement what is commonly known as a “pig butchering” scam model.

By contrast, genuine original games are fundamentally different.

Products from legitimate game providers must go through:

  • RNG certification
  • RTP audits
  • independent third-party testing

Platforms cannot alter the game logic or interfere with win/loss outcomes. Players’ results are determined solely by probability, not by backend manipulation. For platforms that aim to build long-term credibility and sustainable operations, using officially licensed original games is the only viable choice. Serious long-term operators value brand reputation and player trust. They do not sacrifice credibility for short-term gains by using fake games. After all, established brands rely on continuous player retention and loyalty. Once trust is damaged, both retention and conversion rates suffer significantly.

However, for platforms that only seek short-term profit extraction, fake games often become the preferred choice because they allow complete control over outcomes. At the same time, the market has seen a large number of counterfeit versions of popular games. For example, well-known brands such as PG and PP, which are highly popular among players, are frequently copied to make unauthorized versions. On the surface, these games may look almost identical to the originals. But the underlying game logic is entirely different.

What players see may simply be a familiar interface, while the actual system running behind it is a completely opaque backend. From this perspective, fake games continue to emerge not merely because of cost, but because they provide platforms with the ability to manipulate results. Therefore, both operators and players must develop the ability to distinguish between authentic and fake products. Only by understanding the risks and recognizing trustworthy platforms can users protect both their funds and gaming experience.

We hope to help guide everyone in the right direction — to avoid these traps and to reinforce one important truth:

Choosing a trustworthy platform is the first step toward ensuring fairness and security in every bet.
